No Talk Of...

It has mostly been in bars (taverns, honky-tonks, etc.) where I have seen such a sign, but it is a general rule in many over places.  Why is that?

Well, it is fairly easy understand why such talk would not be good where adult beverages are consumed.  For they have a tendency to loosen the tongue and inflame passions.

What about in more restrained environments?  After all, shouldn’t civilized people be able to discuss different views in a respectable manner?

In many cases, they can, but the result is usually the same—especially when it comes to religion.  For all most know is just what they have been taught, and with there being no means of settling a disagreement on doctrine, it would be better to just not bring it up in the first place—right?

Yes, one can always count on our Heavenly Father’s Holy Bible.  For it is written: All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. [2 Timothy 3:16-17 NAS]

On the other hand, is it not true that there are about ten gazillion different interpretations based upon dozens of different translations out there?  Therefore, all one can do is have faith in what they have been taught, and hope for the best—right?  Of course, that also applies to whatever they have come to believe on their own.

Alas, without the witness of our Heavenly Father’s Holy Spirit, that really is all we can do.  For who amongst us can honestly claim to know more than another since none of us has actually seen our Heavenly Father—let alone been in His head when He has done this or that.

Oh, but that is not necessarily true—is it?  The part about being in His head, that is.  For all who are truly in Christ Jesus are supposed to be of the same mind—His mind, to be exact.  For it is written: Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble). [1 Peter 3:8 AMP]

How could it righteously be any other way?  For it is also written: There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.  But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. [Ephesians 4:4-7 NAS]

Ah yes, that last part about each one being given a measure of His grace appears to be an out.  In fact, this has actually been taught, and the absolute truth of the matter truly is that the path that I am to travel may be different than yours.

Nonetheless, that doesn’t justify remaining in the darkness of Spiritual ignorance when it is time to go walk in the Light as He walks in the Light.  Be assured that our Heavenly Father has been there with you since the womb, and all you have to do is listen to the great and wonderful things He wants to personally reveal to you.

Come on now, haven’t you ever “heard” countering thoughts in your mind when listening to a sermon, a political speech or maybe just sitting there thinking about stuff?  There have been times when He has given me multiple ways of looking at something, with variances between them being quite vast.

No, I cannot promise you that your life will immediately get better.  For in my own case, I have spent much more time feeling like a Spiritual crash-test dummy than any sort of conquering hero of the faith, but He has always been faithful to bring back from the edge whenever I have felt like jumping off.

Our Heavenly Father will do the same for you.  That much, I can promise.  Besides, wouldn’t it be good to finally understand what is really going on?
