Romney or Obama?

Once again the media is filled with the American election.  Once again pictures of shining teeth (all false) glint from the screen.  Once again cheering hordes yell ecstatically whenever their man says anything, be it "Hello America," or something worth hearing.   Once again the world looks on aghast!

On offer is a president known world wide as one who restored the image of the US, against him appears an unknown who speaks like George 'Dubya' Bush, but without the intellect.  Sadly the 'Tea Party' appear willing to vote for him and his offer of another 'Cold War,' more American troops killing the innocent and an economic policy that makes the present trillion dollar deficit appear like pocket money.  "Surely the American people cannot be that stupid?" we ask.  "Surely they will reinstate the man who offered them a proper health service, one which would cost them a little on tax but which they rejected to be 'free,' and instead pay a lot for insurance and more for drugs!  Surely they will make the right choice here?"

Sadly we know the danger is many will continue to believe in an American myth.  Sadly some will refuse to vote for a Black man, especially as many consider him to be a Muslim!  Dearie me!  Sadly, as always, greed and selfishness will be first in folks thoughts.  The unemployed, the sick, those missing out will all be lumped together by the 'Tea Party' as 'lazy,' or 'scroungers,' or even 'pretending to be sick.'  They can then justify not spending money on care for them.   A few even pretend they are Christians while doing this!  How they justify that I cannot understand.  'Love your neighbour' is put second to ;the All American Way,' and that depends on what you wish that to mean.

Even worse lies ahead.  Once the US have made their decision, good or bad, the middle east will explode, war may be inevitable, and then to top it of the UK will have an election also!  We will have the choice between one inept and out of touch 'Toff,' and his lackey, against a nonentity who's party has forgotten the people they represent.  The choice is simple, vote for 'A' and get a nothing in place, or vote for 'B' and get a nothing in place.   Neither have any idea what to do, all look after Number One.

One of My Thorns

A couple of days ago, I published [A Thorn in the Flesh], which touched upon what the Apostle Paul was subjected to, and my own personal experience with the like.  As with most of the things I have been given to say by our Heavenly Father, it was not what far too many in the Christian community wants to hear.  For the primary emphasis of the piece was on the absolute truth of the matter truly being that there is nothing we can do to cleanse ourselves of unrighteousness—other than asking for His will to be done in our lives.

Ah, but aside from being assigned at least one demon to keep reminding me of just how much I am not good enough to be a recognized servant of the Lord God Almighty, I have been subjected to very poor physical health since 1993.  The video below is a trailer to a movie that has been made about what I have been suffering from, and a very detailed article about the disease can be read [here].  All of this was brought to my attention yesterday by my very dear friend, [Adullamite], who will undoubtedly deny ever knowing me if you would ask him about it.

After watching the trailer, I must admit that those in the movie may have been (and be) a whole lot sicker than I am.  For the simplest way of explaining what I have felt like for a little over 19 years now is that I have had a fairly severe case of the flu, with little alleviation of the symptoms from one day to the next, but I have never felt like I needed to be admitted to a hospital.  Of course, I have been told on many an occasion that I really am too dumb to die.

Through Adullamite

Despite his resistance, our Heavenly Father still delights in letting His Light shine quite brightly through [Adullamite].  The following is an extraordinary example of that.  You can view the entire article [here].

This of course is not the first time riots have occurred in England  (Note: Unlike the English press I use the word 'England' as all riots so far have been there. The English press use the term 'Britain' in such circumstances although had this occurred in Scotland the term 'Scotland would of course be used. These riots have been found only in England, please note!). Beginning in north London after a peaceful vigil for a man shot dead by police the riots quickly escalated. Various parts of London soon found themselves ablaze with many, mostly young, yobs keen to destroy wantonly, steal and loot from every shop in sight, and on occasion injure any who stood in their way.  Soon Birmingham, Liverpool and even the small town of Gloucester got in on the act.  Police shortcomings have been exposed here, and while a more positive approach is now being seen it is much too late, although is has to be said nobody could have seen the widespread 'copycat' events that occurred later.

The reason for this remains shrouded in endless chatter and blame sharing. Police and 'ethnic minorities' have had trouble relating in London for years. The liberal types point out the police failings, and they are many, and few have the courage to stand up and indicate the black 'minority' have a fair part of the blame also! In the eighties Commissioner Paul Condon claimed eighty percent of muggings were caused by young black males.  A huge outcry was heard, mostly from black politicians, and the only people to suggest he might be right and that something ought to be done were black pastors of local churches and black imams of the mosques. There were few who wished to face reality, but many who wished to make the most of the position. (I spent 21 years in the centre of London and found hardly any race issues amongst the black folk I knew!).  A lack of family values, far too many single mothers, gun gang crime based of Hollywood movies, and money from drugs lies at the bottom of this. Heavy handed policing does not help, especially when people die in police custody and no-one is to blame!  How often does it happen, usually to a black man at that!  These are often thuggish black men it has to be said, not innocent passersby.  Rarely does this happen to a black meteorologist or computer engineer, dentist or taxi driver, the usual recipient of violent treatment is often a man with a violent record, missed by few!  This does not dismiss the police failings, not the number of occasions such event occur, and there was in the past a certain amount of racism in the Metropolitan Police Force, although to consider it wholly racist was just wrong!  This weeks situation began with a man shot dead by police, whether a criminal, a suspect or an innocent man, in truth nobody either knows, or is saying at this time. The truth will arise eventually, maybe.

The trouble that followed was not based on youths feeling ignored by society. This was not a rebellion against a world that kept them down.  Many would have had jobs, many rejected jobs to stay on the dole and make much more money selling drugs, others were still schoolkids, some from primary school!  The vast majority involved were following that aspect of human nature we like to pretend we do not possess, the part that likes to hate, and likes to take whatever it can when opportunity arises no matter the cost to another. Greed is idolatry and it has been seen this week.  Rarely do we admit to ourselves that we enjoy hating an enemy, unless the world around us agrees with our opinion. Rarely do we admit that grabbing loot from a damaged shop is great fun and personal gain!  Rarely do we admit just how awful human nature really is, and many reading the reports in the media, a media full of bullshit it must be said, rarely do we admit to a jealousy that we were not near enough to go and grab that item we really wanted!  The suffering of those who lost businesses, homes, jobs or everything they possessed may move us slightly, but how many of those involved, when moved as many will be, by such emotion will give back their booty and show their remorse by an action? 

The circumstances of being at the bottom of society, ignored by the government, treated badly by the authorities actually affect many more people than the young or any 'ethnic minority!'  Nothing today justifies the behaviour seen in the past week. There can be no justification for the burning of homes, nor the robbing of others, this behaviour comes from the fallen human heart, and circumstances allow this to reveal itself in all the horror it can get away with.  The worrying thing is that while we do not wish to believe it this conduct is within us all, the human heart is rotten to the core and only Jesus and his finished work on the cross can cure this. He has seen riots like this many times before, since the dawn of time. Britain, and I mean Britain not England, has often been troubled by riots, in the eighties in Brixton and Liverpool, during the twenties when men returning from the war found the promised jobs failed to appear as did the promised houses, and even many officers were found sleeping rough in our cities. Riots in the past over Corn laws, and parliamentary reform, riots over bad working conditions and poverty have returned to Britain many times. Today we do not have riots because of poverty, or even lack of opportunity or bad police relations.  We have riots because human nature likes to steal, rob and destroy. One day we will admit to ourselves that this is so, if we have the courage to do so.

Sexism

Sexism abounds in western society! Day by day we find that one sex (sorry, we have to call it 'gender' today) can push the other around in an unfair manner and then complain that life is in fact unfair to them. Such a nonsensical attitude prevails everywhere. Let's consider the questions such abuse creates.

Why do women tennis players earn the same as men? The men, who are the ones people actually come to watch, play three sets, often leading to five set matches. The girls play two, then, occasionally a third. People only watch them if they are tabloid pressmen or lesbians, no-on actually cares which of the handful of 'top stars' actually wins. Women's tennis is as important as women's football, that is, it not important at all. In spite of this difference in class and importance, in spite of the lack of drawing power the women get paid the same as the men. How is such discrimination acceptable?

This runs through every part of life. In a more serious vein, if a woman chooses, often under pressure from those who claim to help her (and get paid for it) if a woman chooses to kill her child in a legal abortion the father has no say in this whatsoever! The lie that this is the woman's body deliberately ignores the fact that the child is in the woman's body, not part of it! However without a father it would not be there at all. Why has he no say here? This ignores the God given creation of a child.  A father and mother are both required to raise the child.  On occasion this cannot happen, however that is the norm and the best way, in spite of the difficulties created.

Divorce courts routinely take the women's side, even when it is clear the father is being badly treated. The female of the species benefits in spite of all evidence against her. PC judges or those just fed up with quarrelling spouses may take the easy way out. In the world o0f commerce many females claim sex discrimination, and win, just because they do not get promotion. No man can hide behind his sex (sorry 'gender') and win this way. 'Positive discrimination' leads to female only candidates in political parties in a vain effort to get more women into parliament, even though the men applying might make better politicians!  There are far too few examples of successful women in politics today even though many shout loud. Clinton has succeeded to some extent, Golda Maier reached the top in Israel, Mrs Gandhi kept tight control over India, and Bhutto of course was killed, although in Pakistan that goes with the job!  Harriet Harman, who reached her position by being female insisted on women only short-lists for candidates, then pushed four women on a shortlist aside to force her husband into a 'safe seat!' How typically feminine of her!

The equality legislation of the last few years has proved to be a joke. The demand for equality was of course ignoring human nature and what people really either need or want. We bowed to a Satanic feminist agenda and the west is suffering because of this. We have all come across pushy women hiding behind legal niceties to get their own way, even if the men are roughly pushed aside. Men after all in western society don't count any more. Women, often failed middle class types who have never had a real job, kept a husband or have a lifestyle worth copying, dominate the media and thousands follow their every word. A proper understanding of life, a desire to get the best for everyone has been lost.

Poor women, how they suffer, although none of the feminist writers will ever work on supermarket checkouts or deliver post, physical jobs are for men or 'common women.' They are happy for men to dig up the roads, dig graves, connect telephone lines and work on railways but complain that a 'glass ceiling' stops them lining their pockets, climbing the hierarchy or sitting behind a desk telling other women what to do. I feel sad about that.

It is time for justice as well as equality. It is time we ignored the selfish rantings of those who live their lives out in their writings and treated people as people. Human rights have indeed a point, but not when only one sided. Women who wish to do any job, and there is few jobs they should not do,  must accept the men as equal, not as enemies. The law is an ass that allows one to treat another badly. Christians must stand up and be counted here, instead of hiding away because they are afraid they will lose out. Instead of 'self' as taught by feminism and all other thought regimes today let's try being a servant and counting the other worthy of respect.
 
I bet the women will bitch about that.

Human beings have always treated one another badly. It is in our nature to bully, harass and hurt. There comes a time when others are required to step in and do something about the maltreatment one person gives another. This must also be the same for governments. The grab for oil that led to a needless invasion of Iraq cost hundreds of thousands of lives, partly through a ham fisted operation, mostly through an even bigger ham fisted aftermath! Once again we find oil causing the UK to join with France and invade Libya, on the pretext of 'preventing harm to civilians.' Now however, while the Syrians shoot down their own with tank fire we mutter apologetic words and stay at a distance. There are many more dead in Syria than in Libya however there is oil in Libya and none in Syria. Thousands are made homeless, thousands are injured and killed, and the west stands at a distance doing nothing? Have we sold all our aircraft like Prime Minister Cameron has? Have we insufficient funds, much wasted in the Iraq debacle? Or are we afraid Syria is too big to chew?  

I suppose few will care. No oil there, we are not troubled. So let them get on with it, that's what Arabs do to one another after all, isn't it?

Egypt

Mid East Web

They are rejoicing in Egypt today. The thousands who blocked the main square in Cairo to demand the removal of President Mubarak continue their blockade, although now the party! Powerful men at the top, mostly army generals, have removed the unwilling president and who knows in what direction Egypt will now move. The generals do not, the people certainly don't, and the suddeness of the transformation has taken the world by surprise. There are no logical political appointees waiting in the wings. Political parties were discouraged, the only organised group being the Muslim Brotherhood, and most apparently do not wish for them to rule. No other political party appears to exist in sufficient form to take power. Many Egyptians with political experience have been tied to Mubarak, as indeed have the army generals! Who will be the leading man, and what will be his power base? The next few days are very important for Egypt and indeed the Middle East. Political turmoil in the Middle East also has an effect on the rest of the world.
