Who's Your Daddy?

As part of a segment on [60 Minutes], Howard Buffett, talked about how he and his sister had no idea just who their father, [Warren Buffett], truly was when they were very young.  Now, their father had told them that he was securities analyst, but they did not know what that was.  So, when a teacher asked his sister what her daddy did, she didn’t realize just how wrong she was when she said that he was a security guard.

Cute story—huh?  Would it be as cute if Warren’s grown children still had no idea just who he was?

Quite sadly, the absolute truth of the matter truly is that the vast majority of our Heavenly Father’s children by faith have no idea just who is.  Making it even worse is that far too many couldn’t care less.  For they are content with their belief in the fact that their sins have been forgiven through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son [Romans 3:23-24]—despite all of His efforts to get them to grow up and become able to truly help with what He wants to accomplish in this world [Hebrews 5:11-6:2].

No, it is not that our Heavenly Father needs anyone to do anything for Him.  For He is, after all, the Lord God Almighty, who is well able to do everything He wants to do without anyone offering to lend a hand [John 16:8-11], but He does want His children by faith to want to help with His work [John 15:26-27]—much like a good parent should want their children to help with the chores, which should be more for the benefit of their children than an actually help to them [John 15:5-8].

Alas, should this not be clearly understood in the Christian community?  For everyone who has been truly born-again in His only begotten Son, who is the Lord Jesus Christ, should be of the same mind—His mind, to be exact [1 Corinthians 2:6-16].  Yet, far too many see nothing wrong with thinking that it is just He and them doing their own thing instead of wanting to truly be part of His body [1 Corinthians 12:12-26].

No, this is not to say that all who are truly in Christ should be willing to just go along with what has been going on.  MAY IT NEVER BE!  For there is much that has been taught in the name of our Heavenly Father that is quite contrary to what He actually says is absolutely true.

What this is saying is that there is more to truly being one of our Heavenly Father’s children by faith than just accepting His only begotten Son as your own personal Lord and Savior.  For that is like becoming married, and then comes the marriage itself.

Would you care if your spouse had no interest in getting to really know you?  Well, even if you wouldn’t, be assured that our Heavenly Father does.

Yes, all of the different doctrines being presented as being of Him really is a serious problem.  For they make it all the more difficult for the lost and confused to accept what He actually says is absolutely true about Himself and the righteousness of all of His most awesome ways—even within the body of Christ [2 Corinthians 11:3-4]!

No, it is nothing that our Heavenly Father cannot easily overcome, but who in their right-mind would not care if they are of the Truth or in error [2 Timothy 4:2]?  Besides, everyone who is not wanting to help clear up the confusion is adding to it—be assured [Matthew 12:30].

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.  For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. [2 Timothy 4:2-4 NIV]

Ironically, what has been widely taught about Timothy 4:2-4 serves as a good example of what it is addressing.  For it has been preached that the Word of God is the Bible instead of its Author, who truly is the Lord Jesus Christ {[Hebrews 12:2]; [Revelation 19:13]}, which makes sense to many because of it being also widely taught that our Heavenly Father, who is [One and the same] with His only begotten Son and His Holy Spirit, stopped seeking to directly communicate with us as soon as the canon of Scripture was complete, along with Him being too Holy to be in the presence of sin.  Therefore, He would have to be in need of His children by faith to preach the Gospel throughout this world so that as many as possible may avoid eternal damnation, and this is something that sounds very good to far too many.  For if He is in need of their service, there is glory to be gained for themselves.  Although, this is something rarely heard coming from them, but even this is changing as more and more in the Christian community refuse to grow up.

I don't really understand what you are saying here Jerry because How can you test what is true without using the Bible as your plumbline. With what would you confirm the message that you bring. Jesus is the Word of God, but my only knowledge of Him has been through scripture that I have heard or read myself. All my life, looking back, there has been a 'bringing me to the Lord', and when I became born of His Spirit it was then that I started to be taught by the Holy Spirit, through scripture and things happening in my life to confirm what He is speaking to me. I know that both wheat and tares are in the kingdom of God and that is why it is important that the truth be preached, and that truth comes from the scriptures. Everything that is going on now in God's spiritual Israel is like a reflection of what was going on in Israel of old, that is where we can learn from the scriptures as revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. I am not under any illusion as to what is going on in many churches today, and just as you believe that the Lord has brought you to write on your blog, I too believe that I have been brought to encourage, share and evangelize on the blogs that I write. I am not sure what you mean when you suggest that what you have written here may help to clear up some of my confusion. Tell me openly Jerry, in plain words, what you think I am confused over.

Okay, that answers the question about how you are actually hearing from our Heavenly Father that I just posed over on our other discussion line, my dear Brenda. For you have been very reluctant to fully embrace what I have been given to say about our Heavenly still actually speaking to us while claiming to actually hear from Him, which has left me rather confused.

No, what I have been given to say about this is not to throw away our Heavenly Father's Holy Bible. For it does indeed contain the sum-total of His Holy Scriptures, which truly are a very precious gift from Him to us, as in all of mankind.

Nonetheless, the cart has been placed in front of the horse (so to speak). For our Heavenly Father's Holy Scriptures were given to serve as written confirmation of what He Himself wants to personally reveal--albeit through His only begotten Son, who is the true Word of God and His Holy Spirit (which is explained like that for the benefit of those who do not fully understand that when they are hearing from One, they are also hearing the Others)--not serve in His absence.

Again, none of this is meant to lessen the significance of our Heavenly Father's Holy Scriptures, but they were given to make it easier to accept what He is personally revealing about Himself and the righteousness of all of His most awesome ways. Be assured that one of His most awesome ways is the ability to spread His Gospel without needing anyone or anything thing to speak for Him--not even His Holy Scriptures!

I have already been given another article to publish here about all of that, which will really be a somewhat reworded repeat of what is contained in those those three chapters of Bittersweet Refinements that you were asked to consider fairly soon after we first "met." It has been repeated to you through me several times since, and you not saying anything about is has contributed to my aforementioned confusion.

Anyway, the title of the new piece will be, "Two out of Three Is Bad," and it should be up sometime during the next 12 hours or so.

Jerry, I think that you don't understand that I already know this, but as I see it you have to have the 'mind of Christ' to understand this, and that is why we have to enter the 'door' before we understand this fact. It is then that the scriptures become the voice of God to the newborn spiritual being. I believe that is the difference between the book of Genesis beginning at chapter 1 and Genesis beginning at ch.5 according to the 'book of generations' where there is no record of the fall. I believe there is a message there. I don't know if I should put this in this comment, you may not know what I am talking about. I believe it is about the two creations of man spoken about in Genesis 1 and 2,on two separate days, the reborn matured on the sixth day. That probably all sounds double dutch to you, but nevertheless it does not to me. I know what you mean when you say 'Two out of three is bad', but it is because of what I assume you are implying here that I too believe that I have to put my second blog on line www.fatherithankyouforjesus.blogspot.co.uk We are called to do different things. I still don't know what you mean about God not needing anyone or anything not even the Holy Scriptures to speak for Him, although I agree absolutely that He can speak directly to any person He chooses. If it is that what you are saying, yes I agree. However, where you actually brought this in to this 'conversation', ie: after my comment on White heart's song, I felt you were actually saying there is no need to evangelize. If you was not saying this then there would be no need to have had the conversation because I believe absolutely that God can speak without using man's voice or writings, but that it is also God who has brought various people to spread His gospel, as He has done with you and I and many others. As far as you saying '(which is explained like that for the benefit of those who do not fully understand that when they are hearing from One, they are also hearing the Others)' I agree absolutely that Jesus (Yahweh saves) is the voice of God, and that the Holy Spirit is the voice of Jesus teaching us. However, until we have the mind of Christ and are born of the Spirit, the natural mind can only understand things in a natural way. I don't know if I have explained myself in a way that you can understand where I am coming from, but in the same way I find it a little difficult to understand fully what you are trying to tell me.
Anyway, maybe if we each read what the other has written, over time we shall understand a little more what we are trying to make one another understand. The explanation for what I mentioned about Genesis 1,2 and 5 are in one of my posts on www.lighthousevision.blogspot.co.uk called 'Let us make man in our image'.

Well, one of us most certainly doesn't understand what our Heavenly actually says is absolutely true about Him speaking and how He wants us to want to help with His work, which is not the same as Him needing us to do things for Him. Hopefully, "Two out of Three is Bad" will help clarify where I am coming from on at least Him speaking, and I will check out what you have to say about the Book of Generations and the two supposed beginnings to the Book of Genesis when I can, which applies to me checking out your new site, as well.
