Just Satan

Militant Muslims are quite fond of referring to the United States of America as being the great Satan, and [here] is Mitt Romney giving them a reason to think about us as they do.  For he could be our next president, and he feels like we should not be ashamed of the actions of some of our citizens when they do awful things.

If you are not up to speed on what this is about, the “stuff” was about to hit the proverbial fan in the Muslim world over a trailer for [Innocence of Muslims] being on YouTube, and in the hope of appeasing the outraged, a staffer with the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt issued a statement.  Now, I was unable to find a copy of the original statement, but I saw the following on a televised [Anderson Cooper] segment: The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continued efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims…as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions we firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

If you haven’t seen Innocence of Muslims yet, you better hurry.  For the trailer can still be seen [here], but I don’t expect it to be up too much longer.  In fact, I am rather shocked that YouTube has not taken it down already.

Oh yeah, you are in for a real treat when you see it.  For Innocence of Muslims looks like something produced by a couple of teenagers while on a spray paint-huffing binge that makes even some [Syfy movies] look Oscar-worthy!

Thanks for coming to my blog and telling me you added my blog to the Blogs to See – I appreciate it. I did not watch the video. I just read that it had been financed by a Christian charity (which is tax exempt!) which is very anti-Muslim- they knew what they were doing – inciting hate really – this is hate speech not free speech. The attack in Libya used this video as a excuse, but they were not just protestors, it was well organized.

Thanks for stopping by, my dear Vagabonde! I do believe that you are exactly right on all counts, but the movie is so laughably stupid, it is hard for me to imagine why anyone who is serious about condemning the practice of Islam would want to produce it. Of course, that is not taking into account the power of Satan to delude us when he is allowed to do so.
