to cringe within the first few seconds of the start of this program, and that
grew to almost seizure-like proportions by the end. For I hate the fact that [President Roosevelt] placed [Prime Minister Churchill] in such an untenable position, which
was undoubtedly in the hope of appeasing very selfish [Republican] interests in
order to keep his [New Deal] alive. I
also hate the fact that the French were not more cooperative, along with [where]
their sovereign pride got them.

Alright, I'll bite: how exactly, from that clip, did Roosevelt put Churchill in an "untenable position"? It sounds to me like Churchill wanted to keep the US out of WWII and that England was understood to be (as it was) a lost cause (I think that today it still is). Care you elaborate, Fish?
BTW - I firmly believe that the US should have STAYED OUT of WWII, so that the arian-occultist-lunatic Nazi's could have gone head-to-head with the seething Soviet atheists and completely DECIMATED each other in the European/Western Asia theater... no US involvement needed. Think about it: Hitlers blitzkrieg wouldn't go much good in Siberia...
Roosevelt refused to provide Churchill with aid and support until after he had proven the lengths he was willing to go to make a stand against the Nazis, and even then, Roosevelt was held back by the isolationists in congress, who were perfectly content to watch the rest of the world burn. It sure sounds like you agree with them, my dear Not at all Lavender.
Think of the American lives that could have been spared had the US waited longer, and let the Axis and the Soviets endlessly head-butt one another. It's strange, I had a great aunt that was part of that time-frame, who never married simply because so many men in her age demographic were sent off to war to die.
Yes, my dear Lavender, if it really was a case of us vs. them, the rest of this world should not be of any concern to us. On the other hand, if "they" are all the same in our Heavenly Father's eyes as we are, and He has given us the resources to be of help unto His loved ones, how can anyone with His Love in their heart just stand idly by and watch unless specifically instructed to do so by Him? Oh, if you doubt that this reply actually came from Him, go take another gander or two at the Book of Jonah as an example of how He really feels about even those who appear to be beyond redemption.
