Back
when [Rev. Jerry Falwell] and [Rev. Pat Robertson] were considered pillars of
the Christian community and people to be reckoned with in political circles, “The
rapid moral decay of American society,” was a catch-phrase bandied about with
great abandon. After catching approximately
87 seconds of one episode of [Ma’s Roadhouse] on [truTV] the other day, it would seem that
much damage has indeed been done.

Alas,
maybe I really have been spending way too much time around [Lavender]. For I can remember having some really good
times around places like that.
On
the other hand, maybe what I remember ain’t exactly what really went down? After all, I used to drink an awful lot…

You lost me at "Back when Rev. Jerry Falwell and Rev. Pat Robertson were considered pillars of the Christian community..."
Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
(wipes away tear) Oh wait, were you serious?
Sadly so, my dear Lavender.
This time of year, Fish, it would be ideal for your to read about a guy named Tetzel - while he was Roman Catholic (and thus corrupt) his practices of extortion for the church are, sadly, practiced by folks like Falwell as well...
Yeah, Tetzel and Falwell certainly haven't been the only ones. In fact, selling indulgences is what Word-Faith theology is ultimately based upon.
